2011 Capital City Chorus University of Indianapolis Music Scholarship Winners Announced!

Capital City is pleased to announce that Maddison Swinney and Katie Dunlap have been chosen to share the 2011 CCC University of Indianapolis Music Scholarship.

U of I Scholarship Winner"My name is Maddison Swinney and I am from Greenfield, Indiana. I was born in Indianapolis but have lived in Greenfield the majority of my life.  I am entering my last year at Uindy and will be graduating in the Spring with a bachelor of science.  I am a voice major with a concentration in recording and technology.  My plans for graduation are pretty open. I know I want to do something with sound, I'm just not sure what or where yet. There are many options I can pursue like radio, television, recording studio, etc. I'm just waiting to see where this path takes me. Music has always been a huge part of my life.  Ever since I was little, I have loved to sing. Singing became what I was known for and what I wanted to do with my life.  Since starting my college career, I have discovered I love recording just as much.  I am looking forward to helping others put their music out into the world.  Music is something that guides me and makes me happy. I am so fortunate to be doing what I love everyday."

The second scholarship winner was Katie Dunlap, of Plainfield, IN. Katie's biography and photo are unavailable at this time.

In 2008, CCC established a $1000 scholarship at the University of Indianapolis. The scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate female vocal student entering her senior year, and working to complete her first bachelors degree in any degreed music program.  The university’s music department selects the recipient(s) based on talent and financial need according to standard awarding and packaging policies of the University.
