Sweet Adelines Competitions
Every spring, Sweet Adelines Choruses and Quartets around the world compete in regional competitions to determine which choruses and quartets will compete at the Sweet Adelines International Convention held annually in the fall. The winning chorus and quartet from each region as well as the top 5 second-place ("wild card") choruses and quartets world-wide are invited to compete at the International Convention.
Capital City Chorus has placed second or third in every Region #4 competition during the past 5 years. In 2007, Capital City competed for evaluation only since we were going to the SAI International Competition in Calgary, Canada that year as a wild card competitor.
Capital City has qualified three times to compete at the SAI International Competition. Each time CCC received a Wild Card invitation as a result of having one of the five highest scores among the second place choruses around the world in the spring Regional Competitions. In 2002 Capital City finished 20th in the world. In 2004, CCC finished 14th and in 2007 improved to 12th in the world.
