Young Singers Foundation

Capital City Chorus has long been recognized in Sweet Adelines International as one of the foremost supporters of the Young Singers Foundation. The two-fold purpose of the foundation is to provide scholarships for vocal music students and to award grant funding to individuals and organizations that provide music programs for young people.

The chorus has twice earned the distinction of "Gold Level Supporter" in recognition of our outstanding financial support. We have also been the recipient of numerous grants in support of our own A Cappella Festivals and our work with music students at the Indiana School for the Blind.

Bev Miller and Toula Oberlies of Capital City Chorus have both served as members of the Young Singers Foundation Board of Trustees. Molly Huffman currently serves as Regional Liaison and YSF Liaison Coordinator, and is a tireless advocate for scholarships and grants this organization provides.

Two of the YSF scholarship recipients for 2003 are from the SAI Region #4 area, which includes CCC. Mary Catherine Maroney studies at DePauw University in Greencastle. Jaylene Stevens studies at Ohio State University in Columbus.

If you would like more information about supporting YSF or about vocal music scholarships, contact CCC at (317) 241-SONG.
