CCC Supports the Community

CCC is active in the community events, both for Sweet Adelines and Central Indiana, including:

Youth

Catch a Rising Star Contest - Members of CCC help coach girls quartets from Indianapolis public Schools so they may compete in the Rising Star Contest, a contest sponsored by Sweet Adelines International for quartets of young women under the age of 25. Several CCC-sponsored quartets have won the Region #4 Catch a Rising Star contest with one, the Harmonettes, placing 3rd in the International competition.

Central Indiana Youth Barbershop Chorus - Members of CCC are actively involved with this chorus of young men and women ages 12 to 18, who sing 4-part a cappella harmony.

Young Singers Foundation - This is the official charity of Sweet Adelines International. The foundation has awarded countless annual scholarships to young musicians and hundreds of grants to after-school and community-based music programs for youngsters. It also supports music therapy through both scholarships and grants. CCC members have been and continue to be actively involved in this foundation.

Young Women in Harmony - This is a Sweet Adelines International music education program aimed at youth. Young Women In Harmony teaches emerging voices the skills, joy and rewards of performing and singing four-part harmony, barbershop style... Young Women in Harmony delivers both musical excellence and education while it gives young women a taste of show business. This program provides educational tools to teach young women singers the joy of performing this American vocal music art form.

University of Indianapolis Music Scholarship - In 2008, CCC established a $1000 scholarship at the University of Indianapolis. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate female vocal student entering her senior year, and working to complete her first bachelors degree in any degreed music program.  The university’s music department will select the recipient based on talent and financial need according to standard awarding and packaging policies of the University.
